Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group (YRPG) is a large nationwide pharmaceutical group which is one of the key medical enterprises in China. Since its founding in 1971, YRPG has followed the concept of "Seeking progress all the time, safeguarding all living creatures." The enterprise has had a sustainable, healthy and as fast-paced development, and has become the leader of China's more than 6,000 companies in the national pharmaceutical industry.
Our company has built production bases in Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Chengdu and Guangzhou. YRPG possesses a large sales network in China; our annual sales have topped USD1,000,000,000 in 2004. We have the comprehensive economic and technological index of the group ranked first in 2004.
Our company occupies almost 700,000 square meters (including the sites in Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Chengdu and Taizhou), with 4,000 employees, more than 1,800 of which are technical staff. Our 40,000 square meters of factory building all meet GMP standards. The group's complex building for extraction that can extract over 10,000 tons of raw medicinal material annually is the biggest production base for Chinese medicine extraction in all of Asia.
We produce prepared Chinese medicine, Western medicine, compounded medicine and other health products. Thus, our company has formed a product composition system; drugs for circulation system; antineoplastic and antipyretic analgesics, including tablet, capsule, pellet, oral liquid; large capacity injection; small capacity injection; medical syrup; and freeze-dried powder needle and ointment.
Among those products, seven have been labeled as "National Protected Types of Traditional Chinese Medicine," and eight branded as "Chinese Famous Products." Two have reached the Green Trade Standards of Imported and Exported Medicinal Herbs and Preparations.
YRPG is making all efforts to develop new products and speed up our technological innovation. In April 1998, the group set up a post-doctorate scientific research work station. We have united several famous universities and research institutes in China to set up a National Engineering Research Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Manufacturing Technology. Also, we have established a scientific research center for traditional Chinese medicine and a GAP plantation base.
Currently, our company is endeavoring to develop biomedicine and medicines made with marine resources, and on such technologies as target direction slow release, release control, and skin penetration.
